Social network superstar Pinterest has enjoyed huge growth in recent months.  According to recent stats, traffic to Pinterest has increased by more than 40 times since December 2011. It is the fastest growth ever for a standalone site. That is a lot of pinning folks!

In fact, just last month Pinterest drove more traffic to online publishers than Twitter. That’s an impressive figure, given this two-year-old site has an estimated 11.7 million active registered users compared to Twitter’s more than 100 million.

The great news is that big brands really are starting to take notice and are trying to understand how they can use Pinterest as a powerful marketing tool. Due to the community-minded nature of the site, it’s not hard to see the potential for marketing products and services.

Could it be the next wave of both social networking and e-commerce?  I sure hope so!

Unfortunately, Pinterest doesn’t offer branded pages the way Facebook or Twitter does. This is where Postano is an excellent solution. Within Postano, you can style your content any way you’d like to exactly match your brand standards, display your Pinterest pins within Postano and allow visitors to pin items to their own Pinterest pinboard.

Why is this so great you ask?  This helps push an item out to a wider audience of people that could be interested in that particular item, thereby increasing reach and helping to monetize your social marketing efforts.   Postano helps marketers capitalize on what really sets Pinterest apart from the others…social monetization based on interest driven content.  Priceless!

This Friday, we’re doing a twist on Twitter’s Follow Friday. Instead of finding the best people to follow on Twitter, we’ve decided to curate a list of the best people and boards to follow on the hot new social network, Pinterest. We’re also super excited around Postano headquarters for our integration with Pinterest in our next release (coming soon, we promise).

Starting soon, you’ll be able to import Pinterest users and boards into your Postano. You’ll also be able to add the “Pin It” button, so you can pin content directly from your Postano to Pinterest. Awesome, right? We think so.

In honor of adding Pinterest as one of the many social networks you can aggregate, style and syndicate using Postano, here’s our list of some of the best pinners:
